Sofia Goggia won the Downhill World Cup

It is his second victory in the specialty after the one in 2018: he won after the cancellation of today's race in Switzerland due to bad weather.

The Italian skier Sofia Goggia won the Downhill World Cup, following the cancellation due to bad weather of the races scheduled for today in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, in the Ski World Cup finals. The World Cup is won based on the points obtained in all the free runs of the season: Goggia won with 480 points, against 410 for the Swiss Corinne Suter and 383 for the other Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami.

For Goggia, who is 28, it is the second victory in the Downhill World Cup after 2018 one. Goggia fractured the tibial plateau of her right knee in late January but recovered in time to participate in today's race. To win the World Cup it would have been enough for her to finish at least eighth, but thanks to the cancellation of the race there was no need.
