Andrea Pirlo will be replaced on the same day by Massimiliano Allegri, who will return to Juventus after leaving it two years ago.
After only one season as coach, Andrea Pirlo will leave Juventus:
he will be replaced by Massimiliano Allegri, who will return to Juventus after
leaving it two years ago to make room for a new technical project, the same one
that can now be said to have failed. Pirlo ended his first year as a coach at
Juventus with a fourth place in the league - the worst result in ten years -
and the victory of the Italian Cup. In the statement published Friday, the club
thanked him for "courage, commitment, and passion".
Allegri is expected to sign a three-year contract. In his previous period at Juventus, he had won five championships, four times the Italian Cup, and twice reached the Champions League final.
The change of coach comes after another important corporate change,
that of the sporting director. Fabio
Paratici, who has held this role for the last ten years, will leave the
club at the end of June and will talk about it in a press conference with President Andrea Agnelli on 4 June. The
management has not yet announced who will be replaced.
